NATIONWIDE -- We often think about food safety when preparing our meals - but what about our pets?
Experts say pet food can also be contaminated. They recommend pet owners look out for toxins that can come from mold, as well as bacteria when there's too much moisture and warmth in a storage area.
Experts also recommend checking the ingredient list to avoid pet foods with dyes and chemicals that can be harmful, such as corn syrup and propylene glycol.
