GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.
Pet food is one of the top requests at food banks in Grand Junction and to help combat this issue, the 3rd Annual Tiara Rado Animal Hospital Pet Food Drive is now underway.
The drive runs until November 15, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Last year, close to 4,000 pounds of pet food were donated to Tiara Rado, which lasted for about 9 months.This year, they're hoping to collect enough to last the full year.
This is the only pet food drive that Tiara Rado holds all year, and organizers say your donations will go to good use.
"The really neat thing we're doing at Tiara Rado is that we're going to match all of the food donations and were going to match all of the cash donations. So everything that we get donated will be doubled. In fact, last year we almost trippled it," said Jeff Stroud from Tiara Rado.
Tiara Rado is located at 2245 3/4 on Broadway, and are open from 8 a.m. to 5:30, Monday through Friday.
They're accepting cat and dog food, both dry and canned and if you can't donate food, cash and checks are accepted.
