Fur babies won’t have to travel far for grooming or a new toy. Pet Supplies Plus opened a new location at 4970 Transit Road in Depew.

The new Pet Supplies Plus hosted grand opening events earlier in the month.

To mark Pet Supplies Plus’ official entrance into the neighborhood, families were invited to the grand opening celebration that included sale prices, free nail trims, giveaways and activities for children and pets.

Free scratch cards up to $50 in value were provided with a purchase, along with free small bags of cat and dog food both days.

Additionally, raffles were held for neighbors to have the chance to win free dog food for an entire year.

The new Pet Supplies Plus location hopes to offer area residents an easy-to-shop environment offering a broad range of food from premium items to basic grocery products and a variety of pet toys, equipment, fish and critters.

Made in the USA pet consumables such as wet and dry food, treats, rawhide and chews will be available for purchase as well.

The 5,938-square-foot store will also feature a self-service dog wash and a carryout service to help neighbors carry heavy purchases.

“Pets are such a great perk of a family’s life. When owners come in to buy good food or a toy for their pet, they’re in a great mood, and it’s hard to not be happy,” said Pet Supplies Plus CEO Chris Rowland.

“To be a central part of the happiness that goes along with owning a pet is a neat way to make a living.”

Pet Supplies Plus maintains a professional, experienced and knowledgeable local team.

Extensive training ensures that all team members are able to answer a broad range of questions about household pets, from dogs and cats to exotic birds, reptiles and fish, and are experts in natural and holistic foods.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the free Preferred Pet Club, which offers members the benefit of regular coupons and monthly specials, resulting in big savings.

Founded on the belief that convenient, quality service for busy consumers was lacking in the pet industry, retail veterans Jack Berry and Harry Shallop opened the first Pet Supplies Plus in Redford, Michigan in 1988.

Since then, the neighborhood-style pet store has become a household name in 26 states.
