Bloomfield Township police report that in two separate incidents, at the same pet supplies store, stolen credit cards were used for over $370 in purchases.

Both incidents happened at the Pet Supplies Plus store at 2057 Telegraph Road, police say.

The first happened on Sept. 4, but the manager reported it on Oct. 18. The employee said a man made three credit card purchases for a juvenile bearded dragon and other items for its care. All three charges were determined to be fraudulent by the bank that issued the card.

The total amount of the transactions was over $270. The suspect is described as a heavyset, dark, complected black male, 25 to 35 years of age, with a beard.

The second incident happened Oct. 15, police say. The pet store’s manager said he received a call from a Texas resident who said that his credit card was used at the Pet Supplies Plus earlier in the day.

He said he still had the credit card in his possession and did not authorize anyone to use it.

The investigation showed that the male in a photo shared by Bloomfield Township Police Nov. 10 used the credit card information to purchase a bag of dog food and a $100 gift card.

The subject then attempted to purchase a second $100 gift card using a different credit card. The second transaction was declined. He left the store without making the second purchase. The suspect is described as a 25 to 40 year old black male with a receding hairline.
