The Port Barre Police Dept. will host Law for Paws Day Dec. 9 benefiting the St. Landry Parish Animal Shelter & F.U.R.
Both Opelousas and Krotz Springs Police departments will participate in the donation drive.
F.U.R.is a non-profit organization which funds supplies for the shelter that are not covered by the parish and veterinary care for incoming abused or neglected animals.
The drive will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- dawn dish soap
- bath towels
- blankets
- cat litter
- hand sanitizer
- laundry soap
- all purpose cleaners
- paper towels
- Clorox wipes
- large food/water bowls
- wood shavings
- tarps
- heaters
- fans
- horse feed and hay(coordinate with the shelter for delivery)
