BANGOR, Maine (WABI) Members of the Bangor Police Department spent their day outside a supermarket for a good cause on Saturday.
The department held its annual pet food drive. This was to help animals in need.
Officers collected cat litter, pet food as well as donations.
Daniel Gastia, Community relations officer says, "there are some elders who may have to make the decision of putting food on their plate or feeding their animals. It is extremely important for us to go out and get as many donations as we can get to make sure the elders don't have to make that decision."
All proceeds will go to the Furry Friends Food Cupboard at Eastern Area on Aging.
