Win Detroit Lions tickets from Sam Martin's dog Halloween costume contest for animal welfare - WDIV Detroit

DETROIT - Detroit Lions punter Sam Martin is hosting a social media dog costume contest.

Martin will donate $6 to the Sam Martin Foundation Pet Fund for every photo of pets in Halloween costumes posted to Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #KickOrTreatfor6. Premier Pet Supply will donate 6 pounds of dog food to the Michigan Humane Society for each post.

The contest goes until Oct. 28.

“It’s always been a priority for me to help out animals in need,” Martin said.

The first-place winner of the contest will win four tickets to a Lions game and free dog food for a year. The second-place winner will get two tickets to a Lions game, pet food and a Premier Pet Supply gift card. Third place will receive a gift card and pet food.

Martin will announce the winners at Premier Pet Supply in Beverley Hills at 2 p.m. on Oct. 28. He will also be giving away an additional pair of Lions tickets at the event.

Martin has been active in animal welfare. After Hurricane Harvey, he posted a photo with his dog, Leo, and pledged to donate 6 pounds of dog food for each retweet, up to a $10,000 value. The tweet garnered more than 8,000 retweets in an hour.
