Red Heat Tavern and Pet Supplies Plus coming to Milford Crossing plaza - Milford Daily News

MILFORD - A pet supply store and Red Heat Tavern, a bar and grill restaurant, appear to be among the latest tenants to sign onto the forthcoming Milford Crossing, a website run by the plaza's owners shows.

Both join a growing list of businesses that have announced plans to open in the former K-Mart shopping plaza, including Stop & Shop, HomeGoods and T.J. Maxx.

Leigh Minnier, a public relations representative for RD Management, confirmed Monday the Wilmington-based, chain restaurant, Red Heat Tavern, is set to open next summer.

The national retailer, Pet Supplies Plus, is also listed as a tenant on a site plan of the plaza posted on RD Management’s website.

Red Heat Tavern features traditional comfort foods with innovative cooking techniques that use a charcoal broiler over a convection oven, according to its website.

The tavern currently has locations in Wilmington and Bedford. A third is expected to open in Westborough in February.

Plans for the 120-128 Medway Road plaza indicate the restaurant will set up shop in the former Bugaboo Creek site: a 5,984-square-foot space with a new outdoor patio section.

RD Management officials announced in August the addition of T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods to the plaza, with plans for the two stores to open alongside Stop & Shop’s 68,500-square-foot store.

The three retailers have locations in the nearby Quarry Square Shopping Center, at 196 East Main St, though that site was listed as available in May.

Both Chipotle and Starbucks confirmed they will come to Milford Crossing early next year in a 20,000-square-foot building with two outdoor eating areas.

Dollar Tree and Salon Centric have stayed on as tenants. Four proposed retail spaces and two office spaces remain vacant, plans indicate.

On Monday, the plaza redesign project continued with crews working on the Medway Road entrance, now closed to traffic.

In July, RD Management officials said Stop & Shop was set to be open by Thanksgiving.

Minnier said the store plans to open soon.
