Some in line Saturday at Tractor Supply Co. got a little boisterous, and at least one seemed on the verge of a hissy fit. But things calmed down as the patients at the VIP Petcare mobile clinic waited their turns for vaccines and other services at the store, 2112 Coliseum Blvd. W.
Devin Cook of Michigan wheeled in the supplies to the back of the store to set up for the start of the clinic, which is scheduled for 1-2:20 p.m. every other Saturday through at least Dec. 16. Similar clinics are held at Tractor Supply stores nationwide.
Participants don’t need to pay for an exam fee, and most bring dogs, Cook said. His VIP Petcare branch is based in Wixom, Mich.
Sabrina Beam heard about the clinic from her sister, so she brought her father’s 2-year-old Chihuahua, Lucky, to the store. Dr. Kendra Jiannuzzi of Fort Wayne got vaccines ready before Lucky was stripped of his sweater and held by Cook so she could get a blood sample from the dog.
