With winter on the way, many homeless animals will suffer in the cold weather without shelter, food or a loving person to care for them.
Throughout October, First Financial Bank centers throughout Indiana and Illinois will be collecting donations of pet food, pet supplies and cash.
Boxes for donations and counter boxes for cash will be available to the public in every First Financial lobby. To make it easy to give, First associates will be outside accepting cash donations in the bank’s drive-thrus every Friday in October.
Associates in each of the counties the bank serves have chosen a local animal shelter, humane society or rescue organization to receive the food, supplies and funds from the drive. Donations will stay in the county in which they are made.
First Financial will also make a corporate contribution to each of the selected organizations.
In Vigo County, all donations will go to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
“Animal shelters and other humane organizations often depend on donations to keep the doors open,” said Karen Milienu, chief branch banking officer at First Financial. “We are pleased to support the caring people who work to address the issue of homeless animals throughout our service area.”
