Holistic Health Extension received preliminary approval from Suffolk County Industrial Association for assistance with the purchase, renovation and equipping of new headquarters in Hauppauge.
The pet food company, considered Long Island’s largest, plans to invest $8 million in a 55,000-square-foot facility at 50 Commerce Drive in Hauppauge. The company, which currently operates in a 17,000-square-foot site in Deer Park, had considered relocating outside of Long Island.
The family-owned, third generation company is a provider of an all-natural pet foods and products. In the new space, it plans to expand its distribution operations, working with national and international markets and e-commerce retailers.
“We’re excited to purchase a new headquarters that will be able to house all of our employees and inventory all while providing us with the necessary space to continue expanding,” Brad Gruber, Holistic Health Extension’s president, said in a statement.
“The proposed purchase of a new building will provide the additional space needed to support Holistic Health Extension growth,” Tony Catapano, Suffolk IDA’s executive director.
Catapano said that the assistance would help to “keep a home-grown company from uprooting its successes while retaining and creating jobs for Long Islanders.”
