RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. — Family-owned and operated pet food company Grandma Lucy’s released a new line of freeze-dried pet food for dogs and cats to its portfolio of other freeze-dried formulas and treats.
The new line, Moxie, can be fed as a complete-and-balanced diet or as a meal enhancer. Moxie dog and cat foods are grain-free, high-protein (93%) diets featuring freeze-dried, human-grade beef, chicken or turkey. The formulas also include fruits and vegetables, which make up 6% of each diet.
One differentiator of the brand is its low price point, which is nearly 20% lower than other freeze-dried, high-protein diets, according to Grandma Lucy’s.
“It’s a wonderful alternative for families who would like the benefits of feeding raw food without actually doing so,” said Breann Shook, co-founder and owner or Grandma Lucy’s.
Moxie is processed minimally in small-batches, as well as Grandma Lucy’s other pet products. The new pet food line is available at pet specialty retailers across the US.
Grandma Lucy’s showcased this new diet at SuperZoo Aug. 20 to 22 in Las Vegas, along with its other brands.
