Tractor Supply stores to celebrate pets - The West Volusia Beacon

Tractor Supply Co. stores in DeLand and Osteen, as well as their more than 1,500 counterparts in 49 states, will be celebrating everything related to the furry members of your family this coming Saturday.

It’s the company’s annual Pet Appreciation Week, which runs Sept. 14 through 18.

The main event on Saturday, Sept. 17, will include samples, giveaways, drawings for gift cards, and other family-friendly activities. In addition, deals on pet products, from food and treats to toys and crates, will be featured all five days, according to a Tractor Supply news release.

“Pet Appreciation Week is a time when our love for animals really shines,” Amy Dykes, manager of the DeLand Tractor Supply store, said in the release. “It’s an opportunity for us to celebrate the love of pets, find great homes for local adoptable animals, and showcase the community partners and rescues who care for these animals year round.”

The two West Volusia stores will offer affordable pet vaccinations, professional pet photographers, pet adoptions (mostly cats, but maybe some dogs, too) from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Volusia, and members of the FFA (formerly called Future Farmers of America) from DeLand Middle School (at the DeLand store) and Pine Ridge High (at the Osteen store).

The DeLand store also will feature a dog wash and dog obedience classes put on by the West Volusia Kennel Club, Dykes said.

Pet Appreciation Week will help raise awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering pets and provide information on proper pet care and nutrition.

Pet Appreciation Week is open to the public — and all leashed, friendly pets — and will take place locally at the Tractor Supply stores at 2300 N. Woodland Blvd. in DeLand and 800 N. State Road 415 in Osteen.

The company’s stores focus on supplying the lifestyle needs of recreational farmers and ranchers and others who enjoy the rural lifestyle, as well as tradesmen and small businesses. Stores are located primarily in towns outlying major metropolitan markets and in rural communities.

Brentwood, Tennessee-based Tractor Supply Co. carries just about everything — except tractors — for customers’ farms, ranches, homes and animals. Its product lines include clothing, equine and pet supplies, tractor/trailer parts and accessories, lawn and garden supplies, power tools, fencing, welding and pump supplies, riding mowers, sprinkler/irrigation parts, and more.
