Pet food manufacturer gobbles up huge logistics unit

A pet food manufacturer has struck a deal to take a 185,000 sq ft logistics unit at Revolution Park (pictured) in Chorley.

GA Pet Food Partners has leased the 185,191 sq ft building fronting Buckshaw Avenue, which includes more than 171,000 sq ft of warehousing space. It represents the last available big shed opportunity on the Buckshaw Village development.

GA Pet Food Partners already has a 200,000 sq ft distribution centre on Revolution Park as well as a manufacturing facility ten miles away in Bretherton. The additional facility offers it greater scope for future expansion.

The letting was secured by Peel Logistics and funding partner British Airways Pension Fund.

Jeremy Greenland, chief executive of Peel Logistics, said: "We're pleased to have completed and let the final building at Revolution Park to GA Pet Food Partners.

"The deal justifies our decision to speculatively construct the unit and demonstrates our continued confidence in the prime North West shed market."

Peel Logistics was represented by JLL, DTRE, Moriarty & Co and Littler & Co.
