HOWELL, Mich (WLNS) – The search is on today for whoever dumped the emaciated body of a dog along a roadside in Fowlerville.
The dog’s body was found inside a dog food bag near the 9300 block of Vogt Road on Saturday.
According to investigators the dog, believed to be a 7-year-old male, had been starved to death.
There were also three emaciated young beagles running loose in the same area.
Those dogs are being treated and are expected to recover.
Today the Livingston County Animal Control and the Michigan Humane Society offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for starving the beagle to death.
“Horrendous acts of animal cruelty will not be tolerated within our community,” said Livingston County Animal Control Director Andy Seltz. “Livingston County Animal Control is dedicated to preventing and ending animal cruelty in our County.”
