The holiday season is a joyful one, but it also brings hard times. As the economy wavers, people fall on hard times. Pet care is expensive – averaging around $1,400 annually for dogs and $1,000 for cats, according to an NBC news story – and sometimes people struggle to care for much-loved pets. 

However, people will give everything they have to their family, and for some people, pets are family.
