Killeen: Police detective donates big load of pet food to animal shelter - KWTX

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A Killeen police detective has been donating pet food to the Killeen Animal Shelter for the past five years, and this year’s donation was impressive.

Tanya Lawson has made it her goal to help the animals that don't have a home during the holidays and she's not alone in this drive.

The After Hours Vet Clinic in Killeen matched every donation, and together they delivered 2,500 pounds of food.

The cause is special to Lawson because she volunteers at the shelter.

“I've also taken a lot of pets and found them homes because this place is very special to me. And that's why my donation each year is specifically to Killeen Animal Shelter.”

The shelter is always accepting donations of everything from pet food and cleaning supplies to blankets and toys.
