Partners for Paws DE, a nonprofit organization that partners with the community and animal rescue groups in Sussex County to save lives, will offer a free dog food distribution day Dec. 31 to qualifying dog owners.
“Someone having financial difficulties doesn’t love their pet any less,” said Partners for Paws DE founder Kate Hungerford. “Free dog food distribution helps keep animals in their homes.”
Sussex County residents in need of food for their canine family members are encouraged to visit partnersforpawsde.com and submit their information in the contact section. A representative will then determine eligibility.
Dog Food Distribution Day is a one-time event, as the nonprofit plans to open a pet food pantry in the spring.
“People need help year round,” said Hungerford. “We’re hoping to help fill the void of resources for pet owners in Sussex County.”
