Dog of the week
Romero is a 9-month-old Shepherd mix puppy. He weighs 49 pounds now, but will likely still have some growing left to do. He is energetic and happy. Meet him at the APL.
Cat of the week
Fabio is an affectionate 4-year-old cat. When he first came to APL, he had an injured eye that needed to be removed. He has healed great and gets around just fine. He would love to have a quiet home where he can relax and cuddle. Chin rubs are his favorite; he will stop what he’s doing, plop down and snuggle. Meet Fabio at the APL.
Upcoming adoption events
• Saturday, Oct. 14: Cats will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and dogs from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart, 3183 Veterans Parkway. The Mobile Adoption Unit will be at County Market on South Sixth Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Sunday, Oct. 15: Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs from noon to 3 p.m. at Pet Supplies Plus, 1895 Sangamon Ave.
