VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- People aren’t the only ones who suffer from hunger; our furry friends across South Georgia are also getting help finding their next meal.
The Feeding America Food Bank in Valdosta received a truckload full of cat and dog food from PetSmart on Tuesday.
Second Harvest says the donation is going to make a big impact for pets and even pet owners.
Eliza McCall of Second Harvest said, “They may make tough choices and some may even opt to feed their pets and not eat themselves. So now, with these donations, we can make sure that they don’t have to make that choice.”
The pet food program is new this year. For every bag of pet food purchased, a meal is donated to a pet in need.
