HAMBURG TOWNSHIP, MI - Police are investigating after a man died at a crash with a pet supplies store on Friday, Feb. 9.

Police were called about 12:30 p.m. Friday to the crash at The Wild Indoors Pet Supplies store at 9560 Chilson Commons Circle in Livingston County's Hamburg Township, according to a release from the Hamburg Township Police Department.

Officers found a 2003 Buick Century crashed into the front of the building and its driver, a 77-year old Hamburg Township resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A passenger, a 76-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital by Livingston County EMS. No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured.

Hamburg Township police could not immediately be reached for comment, but, according to a post on The Wild Indoors' Facebook page, the crash may have involved a medical emergency.

"Earlier today we had an elderly couple collide with our building during a medical emergency," the post said. "The couple was taken to the hospital and everyone inside the store is ok."

The store may need to close for repairs, according to the post.

Further information on the incident was not immediately available.
