Cat Calm Radio aims to ease the nerves of pets and their owners using music specifically suited for the biological makeup of felines
Pet food supplier WHISKAS recently created a radio station tailored toward calming cats in transit. Called Cat Calm Radio, the program is a partnership between the retailer and BBDO Toronto radio.
The difficulty many cats have with riding in cars to the vet or otherwise can prevent them from receiving the care they need. Cat Calm Radio broadcasts a continuous feed of music that is cat-specific and designed to promote calmness to ease their—and their owners’—journey.
The music was created for felines in particular by David Teie, and is based on the theory that each animal has a different reaction to particular stimuli based on their biological makeup. Overall, the aim of WHISKAS’ initiative is to drive brand engagement with its consumers by offering them supplemental content that promotes pet health and wellbeing, supporting them in ways beyond pet food’s typical reach.
