Letter to the Editor: Support for pet food drive appreciated - Morganton News Herald

On behalf of Tyra Serval Freed, the Civil Serval, and Winston Linker, canine volunteer, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who assisted in restocking The Outreach Center Pet Pantry and to all whose efforts were so instrumental in the success of November Pet Pantry Food Drive. Because of all of you caring individuals, all of the families and elderly individuals who also needed pet food were able to receive it during The Outreach Center’s November Mass Food Distribution on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

We are so very grateful to The News Herald Editor Lisa Wall and her staff writer Tammie Gercken for the excellent coverage of the November Pet Pantry Food Drive appearing in the Nov. 9 edition of the newspaper. Your continued commitment to our community in keeping it informed about charitable events such as our recent Pet Pantry Food Drive plays a major role in the ultimate successful outcome of the project.

Our deepest thanks also goes out to all who helped to get the November Pet Pantry Food Drive off to a “pawsome” start by coming to The Outreach Center on Nov. 11, bearing many bags and cans of cat and dog food, and then visited with Tyra and Winston. Tyra and Winston enjoyed seeing all of you, even if they were a little distracted at times by all of the pet food you brought!

Finally, we would extend our sincerest appreciation to Morganton’s local businesses: Burke Animal Clinic, Healthy Petz Veterinary Hospital, Morganton Animal Clinic, Paws & Claws Pet Village, Pet Parlor, and PetSmart for opening your doors to accept donations for this project from Nov. 9-19 and to all of your wonderful, caring customers who filled up those donation bins with much needed pet food.

Because of each and every one of you, Thursday, Nov. 22 was indeed a day of giving thanks for many!

Thank you!
