Community members gave been getting in the Christmas spirit by helping fill the tummy’s of local pets.
A local grocery store was the site for a three day event to collect dog and cat food for the 6th annual pet food drive for the Bannock Humane Society in Pocatello.
Last year they raised around seven thousand dollars worth of pet food and just over two thousand dollars in donations.
All the pet food was delivered to the Bannock Humane Society on Sunday.
“You know Christmas is about love and giving and helping others and helping all the animals, helping people, you know it’s just through the heart, you know help as much as you can,” says Shannon Leavitt, Collecting Pet Food.
The Pet Food Drive Event is normally held the second week of December every year.
