Pet food company expands dog/cat food recall - PAHomePage.com

VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON (WBRE/WYOU) - A Washington state-based company has expanded a pet food recall in three Pacific Northwest states.

Columbia River Natural Pet Foods of Vancouver, WA is voluntarily expanding their current recall of "Cow Pie" and "Chicken & Vegetables" fresh frozen meats for dogs and cats due to the potential of Salmonella and Lysteria monocytogenes contamination.

The bacteria can affect animals eat the products and humans who handle the contaminated pet products, especially if they don't thoroughly wash their hands have handling the products.

"Cow Pie" and "Chicken & Vegetables"' are fresh frozen meat products intended to feed raw to dogs and cats. Both products were sold in Alaska, Oregon and Washington through retail stores and direct delivery.

The "Cow Pie" products comes in frozen 2 lbs. purple and white plastic bags with Lot# 72618 found on an orange sticker. The "Chicken & Vegetables product comes in frozen 2 lbs. turquoise and white plastic bags with Lot # 111518 found on an orange sticker.
