Long lines, but happy pet owners on Saturday, as the Kia Foundation held its monthly pet food giveaway.
The Syracuse-based not for profit gave out 1,500 pounds of cat and dog food. Lines were long at the John Venditti Italian-American War Veterans Post on Danforth Street, but one hundred families got food for their fur babies. (Pet owners have to qualify, based on income eligibility)
In addition to the monthly good giveaways, the Kia Foundation helps keep pets healthy with help getting homebound seniors to veterinary appointments and more.
Donation of pet food is always welcome, and can be dropped off at Paine Branch Library in Eastwood.
The next pet food giveaway is set for March 9th in East Syracuse. Place and times to be announced. For more information: Facebook 'The Kia Foundation Inc.'
