FREEPORT (WREX) — A Freeport Pet Store that’s been in business for more than three decades is closing its doors.
JD’s Pet Paradise announced it’s closing. The store has been owned by Jeffrey White for 35 years. White says he feels bad about the business closing and that it was a hard decision to make. But he says that with retail economy being bad last year and other factors adding together, it didn’t make sense to stay open.
“It’s been my life for 46 years basically,” he says. “I started after school when I was in junior high and I’ve done it my whole life. So I don’t really know anything different.”
The store will be closing by the end of June. White says everything at the store is for sale.
