DETROIT, Texas — Texas Tripe Inc., a pet food manufacturer based in northern Texas, voluntarily recalled 26 lots of various products for potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The pet food products were distributed direct-to-consumer in 34 states between May 28 and July 1, 2019.
The recall was issued August 3 after a routine investigation by the state of Texas discovered a possible source of contamination. The company said it has “since made corrective action.”
Recalled products include 16 of Texas Tripe’s formulas – Ground Turkey Necks; Chicken Tripe complete; Ground chicken with bone; Shepherd blend; Chicken Pork Salmon with egg; Chicken Blend Green Tripe; Phat Katz; Senior Pro; All-Star Bully Blend; Beef Blend; Duck-Rabbit; Goat Tripe Complete; Boneless Chicken Blend; Turkey Pork Blend; Beef Tripe & Ground Rabbit; and Wolf Run.
Texas Tripe said the products were sold in cases of 20 or 40 lbs. No illnesses have been reported in connection to its contaminated product, according to the manufacturer.
