Pet food drive benefiting Grand Junction food bank - KJCT8.com

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- A Grand Junction animal hospital hosting a food drive for our furry friends.

The Tiara Rado animal hospital is collecting pet food for the Community food bank. The food bank provides necessities for Mesa County families in need of some help. Pet food is said to be one of the most requested items.

"Last year, we collected just under 3,000 pounds of food. So this year, of course, we're hoping to break that 3,000 mark. We also collected just over a $1,000 in monetary donations, as well. So we're hoping to beat that record," said April Lewis-Gies, Hospital Manager.

This is the sixth year Tiara Rado is collecting food. They're located off the intersection of Broadway and 22 1/2 Road. They'll take donations up until November 15.
