Local church youth group collects food for pets in need - 13abc Action News

TOLEDO (13abc Action News) - You have a chance to help some local pets in need this week. A Toledo church is holding a pet food drive.

The Church of St. Andrew United Methodist is hosting it's 7th annual Pets In Poverty Fair. They are hoping to collect 4,000 pounds of cat and dog food,.

It will all be donated to the Humane Ohio pet food bank, which helps hundreds of pet owners feed their animals every year. Laura Bensman is the pastor at the church, "Here at the church, the priority is children and families and animals are a big part of a lot of families. We want to make sure the animals don't suffer when their owner hits a rough patch. We want to make sure they have cat and dog food for their animals,"

The Pets In Poverty Fair is this Sunday. The Church of St. Andrew United Methodist is on Heatherdowns, near the intersection of Byrne.
It runs from noon-4. Everyone is invited to stop by and donate food.

There will also be a pet blessing, bounce houses and face painting for the kids, pet product vendors as well as lots of adoptable animals!
