A Georgia player has been charged with forgery after allegedly using counterfeit $100 bill at pet shop - SB Nation

Georgia freshman defensive back Latavious Brini was arrested Tuesday evening, and he faced charges stemming from an alleged July incident at a pet supply store. Brini faces a felony charge of forgery after allegedly using a counterfeit $100 bill and signing up for a rewards card after paying. DawgNation has more on the police report:

During the July 14 purchase, Brini, referred to as the subject in the police report, is alleged to have provided a different name (Trevon Shorter) and address from his own when he agreed to sign up for a Pet Supplies Plus rewards card.

Eight days later, according to the police report, the same cashier noticed Brini return to the store and use a debit card under a different name (Latavious Brini). The cashier notified the manager, who then called the police.

There is no information on the reason for the lag time between the July 22 call and the arrest Wednesday. The arrest report said the bank rejecting the counterfeit bill occurred “some time later” after the July 14 purchase.

Brini has not played this season for Georgia, and will likely redshirt. UGA, nor Kirby Smart, has issued a statement on Brini’s status, but we will update this story with any additional information.
