A fundraiser was held at the S-K Post, State Street, Auburn, on Sunday at noon, Oct. 7, to wed two dogs: Foxy, the bride, owned by Dawn Jorolemon, and Domino, the groom, owned by Christina Carano. The event was sponsored by Mary Jo Pelc and Denise Brooks, two lovely girls who also conducted two other events for animal charities. They also donated food for the event, and made the wedding cake.
The event was a great success and raised $1,350 to fill our empty shelves and I wish to thank Mary Jo and Denise for a great job and also all of the merchants and community members who participated in the event: Parker's, Downtown Deli, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Angelo's, A.T. Walley, Colella's Embroidery, YMCA, Hoopla Frozen Yogurt and Underground.
Thank you, VFW, for donating the hall and Chris Molloy, our photographer. Our Pet Food Pantry is now entering our 22nd year of serving our community. We are a nonprofit organization helping seniors, disabled and needy pet owners to feed their pets. We are always seeking volunteers as well as food, animal bedding and toys. Thank you again, Mary Jo and Denise, for a great job. Well done.
