Southpark Mall and Heartland Kennels will co-sponsor the annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Trick and Costume Contest beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Southpark Mall. There is an entry fee of $5 with all donations going to The Humane Society of Northwest Iowa. Prizes will be awarded for best costume under 14, best costume over 14 and all ages best trick. Participants are asked to enter on the backside of the mall near the public restrooms. Organizers hope to fill up the great pumpkin with pet supplies such as dog and cat food, cat litter, paper towels and cleaning supplies before and during the event to send to the Humane Society.
