A total of 1,722 pounds of dog and cat foot and $1,720.50 in cash were donated to the Community Food Bank in the latest pet food drive conducted by Tiara Rado Animal Hospital in Grand Junction.
A total of 861 pounds of dry and canned dog and cat food was donated, along with $860.25 in cash. Tiara Rado Animal Hospital matched those gifts.
Darcy Johnson, director of the Community Food Bank, said pet food is one of the top requests at Grand Valley food banks. The Community Food Bank provides a three-day supply of emergency food to people. Volunteers bag pet food into three-day supplies.
“We’ve been able to feed pets for nearly an entire year thanks to Tiara Rado’s pet food drive,” Johnson said.
