The South Sound community loves their pets. But, some families and seniors struggle finding the money to feed them. This can lead to giving up the pet or skimping on their own nutrition. No one should have to make those choices — especially when the animal is a valued family member.

In addition, local animal rescue groups can use help feeding homeless pets this holiday season.

Dr. Brad Ellisor,Tenino chiropractor and health adviser, understands the importance of companion animals to our seniors and families.

“I see the positive impact pets have on people’s health and well-being. Biological brain effects with the human/animal bond are known to reduce the stress response,” he said. “Stress left unchecked contributes to many chronic health problems and back pain. The act of caring for, and the unconditional love from, a companion animal makes a significant difference.”
