Pet costume contest winners get free year of pet food
LAS CRUCES - Better Life Natural Pet Foods, 315 Telshor Blvd., is hosting a Halloween Costume Contest on Thursday, Oct. 31 for pets in Las Cruces and Doña Ana County. Proceeds from entry fees will go to help animals in the community and the winner gets a free year of pet food.
Registration begins at 4 p.m. with a $5 entry fee to go towards Project Save a Kitten which is part of the Cat’s Meow, a local cat adoption and rescue organization. Contest judging begins at 5:30 with judging by three local celebrities: Pistol Pete of NMSU, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Dallas and his handler Deputy Scott Bayles and The Grinch.
First-prize winner gets one year of free Fromm pet food. Second prize wins a year of free Victor pet food and third prize gets a six-month supply of AvoDerm Pet Food. Winners will be announced that evening at 7 p.m. There will be refreshments and activities for the entire family.
The Cat’s Meow is at 2211 N. Mesquite St. They are Las Cruces’ first permanent, feline-only adoption center.
